An extra session for KG registration has been added due to the snow day on 2/26/08.  It has been rescheduled for Friday, February 29^th.  The times are from 9:15-11:00 a.m. and 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Kindergarten Registration will be early this year. There will be an evening meeting with the parents on February 21^st at 6:30 pm at Wait Primary School. Remember that your child needs to be 5 years old by August 1, 2008 to be eligible for kindergarten this fall. This meeting will outline what we need from the parents as well as what parents can expect for the coming year. This will be an information meeting only, not a time when the parents can actually enroll their child.

Parents can enroll their kindergarten child on February 26^th (between the hours of 9:15 am -11:00 am and 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm) and February 27^th (between the hours of 9:15 am – 11:00 am and 3:30 pm – 6:15 pm). You will need to bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate, social security card, immunization records, proof of residency, and be prepared to fill out a brief parent questionnaire about your child to aid us in placing your child. If your child is in preschool or in day care we will request that your child’s teacher send us a summary of your child’s progress in their program as well.

We suggest that you also bring your preferred physician’s and dentist’s phone number, as well as your preferred hospital’s phone number, because you will be filling out enrollment forms that require this type of information.

If your child is behind in his/her immunizations, Child Health Services will be present on February 27^th from 3:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. to administer those shots.  A custodial parent must be present in order for Child Health Services to offer this service.  There will be an $8 charge per immunization.  You must have your child’s current immunization record with you.

During registration, parents may sign up for Safety Town and for Surround Care. It is fine to bring your child in with you to registration, but it is not necessary to do so to meet the registration requirements.
