The Orbiter is the official newspaper of Streetsboro High School, the voice of Rockets. It has been established as a forum for student expression and as a voice in the uninhibited, free and open discussion of issues.
The newspaper and its staff members have won numerous awards over the last several decades. In 2006 and 2007, The Orbiter received the highest honor possible, the Golden Flash Award, in the small school division “overall newspaper” category from the Northeast Ohio Scholastic Press Association.
Leading the staff this year are senior editors Whitney Clayton, Rebecca Rak and John Weingart.
Executive Web Designer is junior Kayla Brown.
The Orbiter is advised by journalism teacher Mrs. Polly Dierkens, who has twice been named Adviser of the Year in NOSPA’s small school division.
