STREETSBORO BOARD OF EDUCATION 2008 CALENDAR OF MEETINGS
Regular Meetings Regular meetings are held at 6:45 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month in the cafeteria of Henry Defer Intermediate School, 1895 Annalane Drive, Streetsboro, Ohio. There is a time for community comments at the beginning of the meeting.
The dates scheduled in 2008 are as follows:
January 10 February 14 March 13 April 10 May 8 June 12 July 10 August 14 September 11 October 9 November 13 December 11 Regular Strategic Planning Meetings & Work Sessions Regular strategic planning meetings and work sessions are held periodically throughout the year. These meetings are planned to allow extended discussion about long-term strategies, vision and goals for the School District. Any business that properly may come before the Board is considered. The June meeting includes consideration of fiscal year-end business matters. These meetings are held in the conference room of the Central Services Building, 1891 Annalane Drive, Streetsboro. Ohio.

Saturday, January 19 @ 8:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26 @ 6:45 p.m. Saturday, August 9 @ 8:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6 @ 8:00 a.m.
Regular Meeting to Conduct the Annual Board Buildings Tour The Board annually tours the five school buildings of the District. The key purpose is for Board members to inspect the physical plant of the District and to gain first-hand knowledge of needed improvements. This meeting begins at Wait Primary School, 899 Frost Road, and proceeds from there to each building, ending at Streetsboro High School, 1900 Annalane Drive. If necessary, other business that properly may come before the Board is considered.

Regular Joint Meetings with Streetsboro City Council The Board, usually quarterly on the fifth Monday of the month, holds a joint meeting with Streetsboro City Council to consider matters of mutual interest and concern. Any business that properly may come before the Board is considered. These meetings are held at Henry Defer Intermediate School, 1895 Annalane Drive, Streetsboro Ohio.
(Sometimes, Streetsboro City Council serves as host of these meetings. Notice will be given if City Council serves as host of a meeting in 2008.) The dates scheduled in 2008 is as follows: Monday, March 31 @ 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 30 @ 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 29 @ 7:00 p.m.
Regularly Scheduled Board Committee Meetings Each of the Board’s six committees meets on a quarterly basis. Two Board members comprise each committee. This gives the Board members an opportunity to develop expertise in the area of the committee’s work and to make any necessary recommendations to the full Board. Committee meetings are held at the Board of Education Administration Building, 9000 Kirby Lane, Streetsboro, Ohio.

Finance & Audit Committee The Finance & Audit Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates: Thursday, February 7 Monday, May 5 Thursday, August 7 Thursday, November 6
Building & Operations Committee The Building & Operations Committee meets immediately following the Finance & Audit Committee on the following dates:

Curriculum & Academic Programs Committee The Curriculum & Academic Programs Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates:

Notice of Special Meetings and Schedule Changes From time to time, the Board of Education calls a Special Meeting for a specific purpose or purposes. The meeting notice provides the date, time, location and a brief statement about the purpose of the meeting. In the event a meeting listed above is cancelled; or, the date, time or location of the meeting is changed, notice is provided. All such notices are posted on the web site of the School District.
